The first illustration was drawn from an older Halloween family photo of everyone wearing Captain American t-shirts, while the second is a more recent family picture with the kids now grown up; it’s so fun to do illustrations while capturing your favorite moments in time!
My favorite detail from the Halloween portrait was the tie dye pattern – it was such a fun textural element! Capturing their childhood attitudes and confidence was a lot of fun, too. From the fall family portrait, I am in love with the gorgeous autumn colors! The fence line in the background helped to add context, and the fall hues and textures in the clothing tied it all together perfectly.
