Custom Families In Christ Illustration Portrait | Ruby's Baptism

Today’s project spotlight is an illustration for a sweet eight-year-old girl named Ruby!

Ruby had a birthday in February, but due to COVID-19, her baptism that would’ve happened then was pushed until the end of June.

Ruby had a birthday in February, but due to COVID-19, her baptism that would’ve happened then was pushed until the end of June. Ruby is a sweetheart and was so excited for her baptism day. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where baptism shows her devotion to follow Jesus Christ’s example and obey God’s commandments. This illustration is a great reminder for Ruby of her big day and that Jesus loves her and is proud of her.

Ruby’s illustration shows her standing next to Jesus Christ. The dress she’s wearing was her Aunt Katie’s baptism dress, too. We surrounded them with poppies because Ruby’s baptism pictures were taken in a beautiful poppy field! The flowers are also symbolic; poppies are a symbol of resurrection and eternal life, which are the blessings we can each receive through Christ’s Atonement.

The last detail on Ruby’s illustration is the text with her name and baptism date on it to help her remember this special day where she was surrounded by family and friends. This illustration is a reminder of the first important covenant Ruby will make in her life. When she is older, she will later go to the temple and help her ancestors be able to receive the same blessings that come from baptism and making covenants with Heavenly Father.

This illustration was such a special one to create, and what a wonderful way for Ruby to remember such a significant day in her life!
