Brand Refresh | Circa 93 Films

Today, I’m excited to share about our recent branding project with Circa 93 Films!

They are a videography business in Arizona who specializes in wedding and elopement videography.

If you're in the market for a videographer for your special day, I highly recommend you check them out! The owner Chris has an incredible talent for capturing all of the emotions that go into weddings, and it’s truly beautiful.

I had the chance to talk to Chris about his experience with Mangum Design Co. and our branding process; here’s what he had to say:

Emma: How did you know you wanted to work with us for branding your business?

Chris: My wife and I had a friend who had worked with Emma previously and we had both been looking to do a bit of a rebrand for our businesses. It was too good of a deal to pass up!

Emma: What struggles have you had in the past with branding your business?

Chris: I made my first logo on some online logo maker when I started my business, but that's not my specialty, so it was rough. I knew what colors I liked, but didn't know anything about design or the details that go into it. There is so much more to think about than I realized!

Emma: What did you want your rebrand to change about your brand and your clients' experience working with you?

Chris: I really wanted my brand to feel like the experience I offered. I feel like I offer a great experience for my couples, as well as beautiful final wedding films, but before the redesign I don't think my couples could feel that as much as I hoped.

Emma: Did you learn anything about your brand that you didn't know or realize before rebranding?

Chris: I learned that my previous logo and brand didn't necessarily attract the kind of customers that I truly wanted. My brand has to represent the experience that I give in order to attract the right people.

Emma: Was there anything that surprised you throughout the rebranding process?

Chris: I was so surprised at how much goes into a brand, and the psychology that goes into different colors, fonts, shapes, etc. There was so much that was subconscious and I would have never realized if I hadn't gone through my rebrand.

Emma: What elements of your branding are your favorite and why?

Chris: I personally love the color palette that was chosen. Some are colors that I didn't even know existed, but they complement my brand so well. And I feel like color can definitely make or break your brand when it comes to finding the right customers.

Emma: If someone were to ask you how your experience was working with us for rebranding your business, what would you say?

Chris: It was a fairly easy process - I answered questions about my offering and the experience that I give my couples and then Emma basically took it from there! She would send me different options for colors, logos, etc., and I would tell her what I liked or didn't like. It was very easy to work with her!

Emma: What tip(s) do you have for other small businesses that are considering rebranding or getting a brand refresh for their business?

Chris: 1) Know what separates you from other similar businesses and know your 'why' - why you do what you do. Having a solid knowledge of these two things will make the communication between you and the designer very easy. They will understand exactly what to do to help you rebrand. 2) Also be very open and honest with your designer - if you don't like something, speak up! You will both be much happier if you can communicate clearly with each other.

It was such a pleasure to work with Chris and Circa 93 Films to create his new brand. The final result really makes a statement and speaks to the people Chris wants for clients!
