Top 3 Wedding Budgeting Tips

Three tips to help you plan your big day on a budget that will still give you your dream wedding!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Your special day will be filled with so many memories, loved ones, and of course, love. However, we have to actually get you to that big day first! Today, I’m sharing my top three tips for planning a wedding on a budget.

1) Choose Your Priorities

With all of the decisions to be made for your wedding, what are the three most important things to you and your fiancé? The dress, the photographer, the food...whatever they are, make those three things your top priorities and get exactly what you want for each of those areas first. If you need to, the remaining items can items can be adjusted or revisited to work within your remaining budget. This process allows you to have the most important details be perfect, and the rest of the wedding details still be beautiful but within budget!

2) Use Your Resources

You don't need to look to unknown wedding vendors or pay full price to have the wedding day of your dreams! Do you have a family friend how bakes? A friend who’s a wizard with a sewing machine? Access to employee discounts? Friends and family who volunteer their services are a great way to save precious dollars. Wherever you can get a discount or freebies, if it aligns with your wedding vision, take it! Be on the hunt for giveaways, holiday sales, and even wedding expos. These are all fantastic opportunities to save your hard-earned cash. Every dollar saved is a dollar you can use for other aspects of your wedding or even put towards your new life together once the wedding day is over.

3) Plan Ahead

The earlier you start planning, the more time you give you and your fiancé to find the perfect vendors for you. Many vendors often have limited availability and deadlines for ordering. Book early to avoid extra fees or fees or unavailability due to last-minute scheduling as a last-minute client. Reserving your wedding date as early as you can may even help you score more savings for booking in advance! Take the time you need to explore your options, but when you know what you want, go and get it!

These three tips will make your wedding planning adventures easier and help you save money that can be used in other wedding areas, or even pay for a honeymoon (*wink wink*).
