Daily Dog Hikes Logo Digitization

Today’s project features Aubrey’s logo for Daily Dog Hikes!

Aubrey worked with Jessica over at Free Indeed Art to create a custom logo design.

The final logo Jessica created turned out beautifully in its ink and watercolor details, but it wasn’t set up digitally with text or multiple color options. Jessica asked if I could help digitize her design, which of course I was happy to do!

To digitize the design, I started by tracing the linework and applying vector textures to recreate the original design in vector format. A vector is a mathematically-based design system that is scalable without becoming pixelated and can be as small or large as you like while maintaining its quality.

Next, I created the full color version that looked like the original, along with black and white versions. I also created a few options with and without the tagline so Aubrey can use the logo in different applications. Various file types were also created so she can use the logo digitally or in print format. Lastly, I recommended a few fonts based on the logo that Aubrey could use in future projects to continue the font consistency.

A majority of my projects usually involve strategy sessions and building an entire brand and not just the logo. However, I loved helping Aubrey get the visual consistency and flexibility for her logo as this is one piece of the branding puzzle that is extremely important!
