What is a Brand Style Guide?

Let’s set the scene: you’ve worked with a graphic designer to make a new brand filled with logos, colors, fonts, the works.

But where do you start with it all?

With hundreds of files, it can be tricky to know which files are used for which applications and what fonts are for which uses. So many questions! Luckily, that’s where a style guide can help!

A style guide shows all of the core brand elements in one handy dandy guide with your logos, fonts, and colors. It breaks each section down to explain where each element is best used, as well as how not to use them. Logos are explained in different applications. Colors are shown with CMYK, RGB, and hex codes so that in every use they are consistent across the board.

Fonts are shown in specific applications for titles, subtitles, body text, and more. Also, tracking, capitalization, and other small details are explained to show additional customizations for how the fonts are intended to be used. Lastly, it shows the different file types and explains when to use each one as some are for print and some are for digital and online use.
